Free Pattern Friday! Love Dragon Plush

Hey everyone!
Being February you just know I had to do something themed for Valentine’s Day, but when I saw how close it was to the Chinese Lunar New Year I got especially excited! I tried to come up with a project that combined both ideas, and landed on a cute Eastern style dragon plush holding a tiny heart. Not too dissimilar from Valentine’s teddy bears, but I thought it was a cute twist 😀
The pattern also comes with templates to make it a Western style dragon as well, with wings and horns instead of antlers and whiskers. Either way, it’s slightly different from other dragons I’ve done because it has a more prominent snout and tiny little ears. All the small details do add up to a bit of hand sewing and careful stitching, so I’ve rated it 4/10 in difficulty.
I hope it will make a fun project for you all over this last weekend before V-day! ❤

And there’s a bonus! As some of you may know, I don’t usually do embroidery because my old machine was on the fritz for many years (and I just really love applique so much you guys, haha). Well, I finally got one this past Christmas so I’m ready to start sharing embroidery files to go with my patterns! I usually only made them for myself, so I hope they stitch out well for you. Do let me know if there are any issues so I can make them better for future projects!

P.S. If you’d like to see some behind-the-scenes work on the making of this plush, check out my Patreon! For just $1 a month, subscribers get all of my free patterns one week early. And the perks have been expanded so you’ll now get more behind-the-scenes posts as well 😀

New Shop Pattern! Fleece Fish Hat

Hi everybody!
I’ve got a new pattern that I’ve recently added to my Etsy shop 😀

I’ve had a lot of requests for the pattern I use to create my Magikarp hats. I try to save my fanart for my free patterns, so I thought this was a good opportunity to have fun and really expand the pattern into lots of different fish! The pattern gives you the instructions and templates to make a cute slouchy-style hat that’s very trendy lately, but the opening of the hat forms the mouth of a fish that’s glomming into your head ❤

With the pattern you can make a classic goldfish, shark (complete with sharp teeth!), betta fish, or koi fish (ideal for Magikarp). Though you can swap out the side, top, and tail fins to make lots of different combinations. The pattern is sized for heads between 13” and 25” around, so it runs the scope of sizes from babies to large adults.

To celebrate its launch, I’ll be offering it at 30% off (not including taxes and fees) for this weekend! I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you snagged a copy, I hope you enjoy it!

Free Pattern Friday! Eeveelution Blob Plush

Hi everybody!
I still hadn’t quite gotten over my Pokemon binge sewing from October so I had to delve into the Eeveelution pool just one more time with this new pattern 😀 It’s a simple blob-shaped style of plush, but I’ve dressed them up into all nine of the Eevee evolutions. Much like the previous eeveelution patterns I’ve done, these have a lot of little details to get through, but in the end they are so worth it!

All together they look like quite the set! They’re the perfect size for hanging around your desk and would make a great gift. But would look even better set up on a convention table. The base pattern itself would work well for lots of other animals, but because the eeveelutions have so many small details, I’ve set this one at 4/10 difficulty.
I hope you guys like it!

Holiday Pattern Giveaway Winners!

Hi everyone!
I have the results for the Holiday Pattern Giveaway! There were over 1500 entries to the giveaway, so thank you to everyone that entered! Because the number was so huge, there might have been some issues getting the consolation prizes to everyone — so do let me know if there was an issue.
The prize emails were sent just a bit ago, so if you’re one of the winners here, be sure to check your spam folder 😀

Every winner received a free copy of my new standing plush pattern 🙂 While the top 5 got to choose some patterns from my collection!
The randomly chosen winners were:

In 1st place, who can choose 5 patterns, was Meriel Aho
In 2nd place, who can choose 4 patterns, was Naty S
In 3rd place, who can choose 3 patterns, was Christine N
In 4th place, who can choose 2 patterns, was Linda Echlin
In 5th place, who can choose 1 pattern, was Silvia
and lastly in 6th place, who got my free standing plush pattern, was Sego

Thank you to everyone who entered! I hope it’s a nice bright spot during your holiday season ♥
And if you didn’t win, be sure to check your email anyway because all the non-winning entries got a coupon for my new pattern!

It’s a set of 3 sweet animals in a really classic standing pose; a cat, rabbit, and panda. It’s a bit more complex to sew than it looks, much like my chibi patterns from before. This is because it’s almost entirely machine sewn. I gave it the same difficulty rating as the other, at 6/10 stars.
But since it does look rather simple, I thought I’d dress them up a bit in a cute matching hoodie! Between the two patterns, there’s loads of room for customization and creativity.

Free Pattern Friday! Winter Plush Charms

Hi everyone! In preparation for the holidays I made these super simple little plushies that work perfectly as either ornaments or charms 😀 You can hang them from your keys or attach them to your bag. Of course for the winter I just had to dress them up in little scarves, but you could easily leave it off so the finished plush looks more like an original character you might have in mind.
The pattern has very few pieces and incredibly simple, so someone who had maybe sewn one or two projects in the past could tackle it. And to keep with the chilly theme, the pattern has templates for an arctic fox, a polar bear, an arctic hare, and a white fluffy kitty. With all the templates to use one of them is bound to be great for your creation. I hope you all enjoy it!

This project is part of the Sew a Softie winter initiative to help encourage adults and kids to learn to sew! There are lots of other sites participating in the initiative as well. The holidays are a great time to get together with friends and try some new projects!

Black Friday Sale & New Chibi Dragon Plush Pattern!

Hi everybody! And Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends 😀

Starting today, I’m running a Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale all the way through to the 27th!

There are discounts on patterns as well as my ready-to-ship plushies & hats

And to kick it off, I’ve added a new steampunk critter pattern to the growing family!

An adorable chibi dragon ❤ Just like the other critters it has a cute big head and little body. But I’m a big fan of the side head spikes and the big accent horns. It also has all the other classic dragon features, like almond-shaped eyes, wings, claws, and a spiky dragon tail.

And of course no steampunk adventurer would be complete without accessories! It also comes with a separate .pdf showing how to make a matching scarf, top hat, goggles, eye patch, belt pouch, and even a removable vest with special hole for the wings to peek through.
Of course you can also use the pattern to make a classic dragon, and it still remains just as big and huggable.
I hope this sale will help you all with your holiday shopping and crafting!
