Free Pattern Friday! Shaymin plush!

Hey everyone! Another Pokemon made its way to the top of my fanart pattern poll, this time for Shaymin! It’s definitely one I’ve received a lot of personal requests for, and it was exciting to make one since its sweet smile and beautiful flowers made it such a joy to put together.

This version has a big round body with stumpy arms and legs, and a cute little snout. Then for its distinctive shrub-looking spines, there are two options. If you’re using a smooth fabric like minky or fleece, you can create the leafy look with layers of fabric that have a leaf-like scalloped edge. Or if you’re using faux fur, you don’t need the layers, and instead the whole back looks nice and fluffy. Faux fur can be hard to find in unique colors like this grass green, but I managed to find some from Shannon fabrics in their Dreamy Fur line.

As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face and body details. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!
