New Crafting Challenge Pattern for May!

Hello all!

I can’t believe April went by so fast! I was still doing made-to-order hoodies for a while there, but now I’ve switched gears and am entirely in prep-for-Metrocon mode! It’s going to be in Tampa, FL from June 11th-14th and I just know it’s going to be a blast, so I’ll be sure to remind you with more updates as the time gets closer 😀

In other news, I’m also starting to get close to another kiriban goal! If you hop on over to my Deviant Art page you’ll see you guys have nearly gotten me to 150,000 pageviews ^0^ So in the next few months I wager I’ll be doing another giveaway! I hope you’ll stay tuned to find out what it is ^w^

But anyway! Onto plushy business :B For the month of May the new punny food animal sewing pattern you can earn is:

A Root Beer Stoat!

yurJqpe

This pun is another one of those that I thought was too silly and cute not to do :3 Of course it’s a combination of the root beer float dessert and a stoat – the adorably crazy cousin of the weasel. So merged together I created a tubby little stoat with root beer float features: including a brown body, vanilla head, whipped cream tail, and all with a cherry on top.

All in all this little guy has a lot of tiny details, so the placement of all those little arms, legs, tail, cherry, ears, etc. can make a difference. So just be warned if you’re taking on this project 😀 Double check your placement as often as possible so you’re happy when the final seams are done.

Freebie Friday: The Sakura Purse

Prj024
This purse came about because I was in one of those moods again like with the Pretty in Plaid Purse project ^-~ I saw this lavender printed canvas and had the urge to make a sweet, feminine little purse that had a darling shape. The word sakura is Japanese for cherry blossom, and it’s the first thing I think of when I see adorable springtime colors like this lavender. So I couldn’t help but want to adorn it with beautiful cherry blossom petals and flowers as if they were cascading down from the top of the purse. The purse is just big enough to hold the essentials, so it’s great for a casual date and would work perfectly in lots of different colors and patterns! I imagine a red and black version would look oh-so-sophisticated ^w^
