Free Pattern Friday! Wolf Link Plush & Last minute Christmas sale!

Coming in as the last free pattern of the year is this epic Wolf Link plush! Hopefully fans of the Legend of Zelda series will recognize this adorable guy. This is the wolf form taken by Link in the game Twilight Princess.
This version has a cute belly down pose with rounded paws, a tiny muzzle, and 3D ears. But the most eye catching part are all of his unique details including distinctive face and body markings, and eye-catching hair. He even has a removable shackle to match the one from the game.
Because of all these details, it’s rated a 5/10 in difficulty. So give yourself time for attaching all the accent pieces.

But if you’re more interested in a challenging standing version, my Hyena & Wild Dog pattern has a very similar body style — so I made a pattern hack!

The hack goes over how to swap out the head and tail from the original pattern with the new Wolf Link pieces. The construction is still pretty much the same, but the shapes of the pieces are different. And of course they have all the new cool face and body markings too. So if you want to make this standing version, you’ll need the Hyena & Wild Dog pattern. But as part of a last minute Christmas sale, it’ll be 30% off from now through Christmas! You can also get all of my patterns in the “Beginner” or “Confident beginner” category for 30% off too in case you have something quick and easy you need to make for the holidays. The rest of my shop is also 20% off 🎄

As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes, face markings, body markings, forehead, muzzle, paws, tail, body spots, muzzle, and inner ears. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

  1. WOLF LINK!! I’m so excited to make these, I’ve been hoping you’d make a pattern hack for him but I didn’t expect it to be this year!! Thank you for making these patterns <3

I really like everything, but i do have the qustion how to download the files into my brodery machine

  3. I know this is wolf link but i thought i would use it to make the project my brother gave me its of another wolf from some video game. I’m still trying to figure how I’m doing the most important part. Any tips or advice you want to throw my way to make it look like a wolf holding a sord in its mouth?

    1. I think the simplest way to do it would be to sew the sword as two pieces, the tip of the sword and the back end. Then attach them on each side of the mouth 😊 That way it sort of gives the illusion that it’s being held in the wolf’s mouth.
You could also give the wolf an open mouth, but that’s a little more complex to do.

  4. I love this one it’s so cute!! I am going to ask though if you have any other Legend on Zelda patterns?

  5. I want you to know that I just finished making the pattern hack version of this boi after enlarging the pattern by 400% and it was a huge undertaking but sooo worth it. I also had to change up how I made and attached some of the pieces just to make sure there weren’t any load-bearing ladder stitches.

  6. LOVE this pattern! However, the embroidery for the body won’t fit my machine, even though it’s listed as 4×4. Is there any way to resize the files? BTW, my machine is a Brother SE725.

    1. Yes definitely 😊 For the eyes, the samples use an embroidery machine, but there are also instructions for how to make the eyes with a regular sewing machine as well.
