I’ve got a new plush pattern I’ve added to my shop!

This creepy classic plague doctor is a plush I wanted to do since last year <3 It looks like others had it in mind too, including an awesome Plague Birb from CreepyKawaii and this version from Squishable. The timing is certainly a little on-the-nose considering all the trouble we’re dealing with, but hopefully this cute version of a medieval doctor will put a fun spin on everyone’s Halloween.

Just like the classic doctor, this plush features a long bird-like face. It’s just like the mask that the medieval doctors used to stuff sweet smelling herbs and flowers in the hopes of avoiding illness by keeping bad smells away. It also has a double-breasted coat, capelet with a hood or collar, and a tall hat.

While designing these cuties, I had convinced myself that this doctor must be chubby for maximum silliness. So you’ll find included is a simple body that is round and tubby. But I also thought the doctor would look good as an expansion to my standard human doll pattern — so I included both! So if you have my Chibi Human or Merpeople pattern you’re all set, and if you don’t, you can make a chubby doctor instead! <3 You’ll find the instructions for the mask and clothes are similar for both, it’s just the sizes that differ a little.

The patterns come with applique templates for some simple face options and for the coat buttons. Embroidery is also included for a few more detailed mask designs.

To celebrate the launch, the new pattern will be 30% off from now through Halloween on the 31st! Since some might be staying home for the holiday, I thought I’d stretch the sale through the end of the month in case it helps some keep busy.
