Hi everyone! Today’s freebie is sort of a mini project 😀 there’ll be a bigger one in two weeks ❤ I feel like this pattern is a bit of a tease because I’ve been asked to do a Pikachu plush but instead you guys get its backside, haha! Free Pattern Friday! Card Captor Sakura Brooch

I’m continuing my quest to make more cute patterns for complete beginners! Like a lot of people around the net lately, I’ve been obsessed with enamel and laser cut acrylic pins and all the fun and cute styles that have been released from numerous artists. Sadly, I can’t afford to have all the ones I want, so I had to make do with making some … Continue reading Free Pattern Friday! Card Captor Sakura Brooch

Freebie Friday! Tri-fold Wallet

Prj065

This project came about because I realized I could probably use a new wallet. I’m not exactly sure what kind will work out best for me, so I’m trying out some different shapes. This particular one has a lot of the basic features: loads of pockets for cards, a slot for bills, and a pocket in the back for coins. I’ll have to see how it handles carrying my things. But if it doesn’t work out for me, maybe it will for you! I love that it gave me a chance to show off some of my large print fabrics because the whole wallet is basically one big sheet. The lining is made from polyester lining to deplete my stash, though it was a bit of hassle to work with so I’d probably recommend sticking with a thin cotton if you’ve got it.

In Japan and some other Asian countries Valentine’s Day is celebrated where girls give chocolates (either hand-made … Continue reading Happy White Day! Bonus Pattern: The Egg Bag

The Year of the Snake Gift Card Holder

Kung Hei Fat Choi! Here’s hoping you all have a happy and prosperous new year! As many might know, today marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year, the new year in most Asian countries. You’ve got to love the celebrations for this holiday, the lanterns, parades, fireworks – it’s all so colorful and gorgeous! But even beyond that there’s the fact that, to me, spring always feels like the real beginning of the new year rather than the dead of winter.
Of course, no new year celebration would be complete without the ubiquitous red envelopes, used for giving little gifts of money to children or unmarried juniors. I wanted to join in on the fun and design some red envelopes myself that are perfectly sized to fit gift cards as well as money. Of course, you don’t have to use these to celebrate New Year’s, but you can give them out to anyone who’s deserving of a gift and enjoys Asian culture.
They’re made from printing the template onto cardstock and folding and taping it to make a perfect little holder.
