Free Pattern Friday! Dragonite Plush

Hey everyone!
Even though it’s a new year and I usually start a new poll with new ideas, I couldn’t help but squeeze in this cutie of a Pokemon at the beginning — it is the year of the dragon after all!
Dragonite here has a lot of similarities to Charizard from last month, but I had so much fun making him much chubbier, rounder, and more cuddly! He’s got a big wide snout, chunky feet, a big belly, a very wide tail, tiny antennae, and one little horn. He also has wings that are attached with pipe cleaners so they stand up nicely on their own.
His belly and tail underside are covered with the distinctive ridges. Sadly because this guy is so big these pieces couldn’t be stitched with a 4×4 embroidery hoop. However they can also be done with top stitching on a regular sewing machine for a similar result.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face and other details. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

  3. Thank you so much for this and all of your patterns. And so fitting for the Year of the Dragon! I adore your work and just wanted to say I appreciate you. Have a wonderful 2024.

  4. Hi Choly, I love this pattern and can’t wait to make it. Thank you for all your patterns so much that I rarely go any where else.

  5. Your Pokemon plush patterns are seriously so good, I cannot believe they’re handmade! I love to sew but I don’t know if I could ever recreate something as good as these guys! I’ve saved my favourites for future projects when I have the room to store them all, because man, imagine having a place filled with all these guys 😍 but I just wanted to say that you are talented with a capital T – and this Dragonite (one of my favourite Pokemon ☺️) looks absolutely amazing, as always!

  6. Hi Choly! I absolutely LOVE your patterns… They’re so well done!! The T Rex one has been a present for two nephews already and they love them so much! The embroidery made them safe for babies so their parents give it to them without fear of an eye popping out! πŸ₯°
I was wondering if you could make a Tony Tony Chopper plush… I would love one for myself… 🀩
Thank you so much for all the work you do!
Lots of love from Argentina! πŸ’œ

    1. Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m glad the patterns have been helpful for making gifts!
And thank you for the suggestion! I’ll definitely keep it in mind 😊

  7. Oh the irony…. I just used your Wings of Fire pattern hack to make a Dragonite Pillow Pet for my youngest child (finished in November of 2023). I used the First head type with the Face horn as the head horn and the Antenna. I used the Standard wing from that pattern and for the tail I used the body of the Wyvern & Dragon Chibi Plush Sewing Pattern your Esty, which I had purchased for a Wings of Fire project for my oldest, and chopped the tail off of the patten.

  8. Love your patterns and have almost all of them. Would it be an easy thing to add the pattern name on each piece even if the text is small. It helps keep the pattern pieces organized when cutting out multiple patterns. TIA

  9. I just wanted to say that this pattern is the best EVER!😁 I was wondering, I never got your “$1 off any paid pattern” coupon when I signed up for your email updates. Was I supposed to get one or do you not do that anymore?πŸ€”

    1. Thanks so much! And I’m so sorry you didn’t get your coupon! It’s supposed to send the code word automatically with the subscription confirmation email, so maybe that went to your spam or something.
If you don’t mind emailing me or dming me I could send it to you personally 😊
