I’m fulfilling another highly requested animal today with this sweet huggable otter 😀 I found this one to be tricky to design, since I knew I wanted it lying on its back so it could hold a shell for all to see. But its tail often got in the way of that pose. It took a lot of attempts but I think I like the result!
They don’t have a lot of pieces, so they come together rather quickly. The head and shell are sewn on by hand, so that’s a little tricky, but altogether I’d call it a solid 3/10 in difficulty.
You can sew all the features with fusible web applique or using the embroidery files I’ve included below. The files only need a 4” x 4” hoop! Included is the face as well as the little shell, which has cute little accent lines and is sewn in-the-hoop style to save some time <3
