Hello!

You’ve stumbled upon a relic! The Monthly Crafting Challenge was a feature I ran on my blog from 2013-2016ish. Every year I created 12 different sewing patterns with a common theme. Every month I would unveil a new pattern and offer it for free for those who subscribed to my site that month or sent in photos of things they’ve created with my patterns.
The challenge is now over, but you can still purchase the old patterns from my Etsy store. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

In 2013 I kicked off the challenge with plush sushi patterns, here are some of the best ones:

In 2014 I kept the Japanese food theme going with other Japanese snacks, here are some of the best ones:

In 2015 I wanted to combine food and animals in as many ways as possible. In some cases with a pun! Here are some of the best ones:

In 2016 I did more animals with a twist by tackling legendary creatures. It was my most successful year by far and I stretched it another month to celebrate. Here’s the full collection of 13:

  1. I signed up and I got the email it was cnfurmed but… How do I get the Nessie pattern? I. Love. Nessie. So I really excited but there is not pattern or link. Help? Thanks.

  2. What an adorable plushie and such a great tutorial, it will be a joy to sew a Nessie 😀
I’m glad I signed up. I received the pattern very fast too!

  3. The griffon was just too cute! I signed up right away, then headed directly to the nearest fabric shop XD No brown or grey fleece available, so I’m afraid he’ll have to be black and white. It could be worse I suppose, they could’ve had no natural colours and I’d have had to use blue and neon green I had from old projects!

  4. Do I leave my email in “Follow Blog Via Email”? Cause if so, I never received the email for last month. (March). Thanks!

  5. May I ask how did you redirect your portfolio page to your DA? Oh btw I realized I have never gotten any pattern to my email, and I have been subscribing for awhile. I’d like to have the Griffon pattern please. Haven’t sewn in awhile so this would be great for practice. my email is judithchen(at)live.com. Thank you! 🙂

    1. For the redirect; it just works like a regular link 🙂 The WordPress theme I use allows me to add links for the header and I just put in my dA page for that link.
And I’m sorry you didn’t get your subscription pattern! I didn’t see your name in my subscriber list, but sometimes WordPress does mess things up like that :/ Nevertheless I’ve sent the newest pattern to you so hopefully you got it okay!

      1. thank you for your kind reply 🙂 unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work with my WP theme, also with the menu setting. Ah that’s alright, I love the Gryphon and will try it out after I can get a hand of the right colors. Thank you so much! Btw, yeah WP does that sometimes, yesterday I also got a new sub but no notification at all.

  6. Thank you so much for the griffon pattern! I had to order some minky from the other side of the planet, but I had the right stuff to finish his head so far and it’s so cute! This is an amazing set of patterns! And so far, the griffon instructions are really good and nice to follow :3

  7. Just wondering, but would I be able to receive a previous months pattern please and if so how? I seriously love the Nessie, dragons and the Kraken patterns of yours.

      1. I’m a real novice at texttiles but I can’t wait to try out these patterns. I’ve purchased them via your Etsy shop. 😀 Thank you heaps! I’ll keep an out eye for any future patterns you post. x3
