Sew Desu Ne?

Free Pattern Friday The Child Plush

Hi everyone!
Almost a year ago everyone was excited about The Mandalorian, and of course the adorable green space baby that came along with it! I didn’t have a chance to make a pattern for it then (though TeacupLion made a great one). But I still got so many requests for it I had to give it another try this year — just in time so you can have a plush child to cuddle during season 2!
The pattern features a tiny chibi body, very similar to my Witch Kitty from a few years ago. It has expressive eyes, a mischievous smile, and of course big ears! It also shows you how to make a removable robe.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face in case you’re sewing by regular machine or by hand, but there are free embroidery files as well if you have an embroidery machine. The face fits into a 4″ x 4″ hoop if it sits diagonally, and a 5″ x 5″ hoop if it sits upright.

Would you like to see how I designed this pattern? You can support me on Patreon for as little as $1 and get behind-the-scenes details!

Also as usual, you’re free to sell items you’ve sewn using my pattern. A credit back to me to show appreciation would be all I ask for in return. But as you might already know, Disney is very strict about people selling fanart, so please do be careful out there in craft-seller land ❤ Which brings me to my next announcement — the plush giveaway!
Since I’m not selling these little babies, I’m offering the darker green child for a random winner! (My husband quickly snatched up the light green one lol!)

Free Pattern Friday! Astrobunny Plush

So this time around I developed a pattern for a silly little character 😀 My best friend’s internet handle is sometimes Astrobunny, and I felt this sudden urge to make her a reality. I thought it also helped that the plush is very small and simple, helping add to my collection of patterns for beginners – which is always good, right? The bunny comes with a little Cosmokitty pal, because of course she needed a friend! So this little cutie is just a simple flat, pillow-style plush if you will. But the real charm of it comes in all the cute astronaut details on her suit. There are contrast ear, arm, and leg bands, and a wide array of buttons and switches for the chest panel. And the cherry on the sundae is the little jetpack in back.

The fun part is you can go as simple or complex as you want with all the applique. Sew it all in place or use heavy duty fusible web to just iron it on. Either way the rest of the body sews up quick. The whole body pattern just takes up one printer page. It’s a great handheld size that’s easy sew up quick and to keep around for company. So I just gave it 2/10 stars in difficulty. I hope you’ll give one or both a try!

The Adventure Time Dos-a-dos Notebooks Tutorial Part 3!

The last set of Adventure Time goodness >w< The last two characters I thought would be perfect for these notebooks is BMO and LSP ^-^ Of course BMO is pretty well known to be gender neutral, so he doesn’t have a gender-swapped version – so with that in mind I thought it might be fun to make one of the versions found in the BMO origin story “Be More” just for some variety and because all the MO iterations are so cute!
Once again, the instructions for this set of characters are the same as groups one and two, with one step changed to account for the different appliqué. Hopefully it’s still just as easy to follow ^-^

Freebie Friday! The Nyan Cat Notebook

Prj037BSo are you all the type that loves Nyan Cat or just finds it annoying? I’m the former >w< Sure the song is an addictive and repetitive earworm, but it’s just so darn cute, I can’t help it! I actually made another notebook just like this for my boyfriend a long while back while he was going through a whole bunch of overtime so he’d have something to look forward to when he got home from all that work. The Mario Block Plush was actually one of them, and this was another 😀

I got the idea because I absolutely love bookbinding, though I’m not nearly as skilled at it as I am with sewing. So long back that I barely remember, I bought a multi-pack of rainbow paper. It was for a school project that I don’t even remember the details to XD as I probably just used about 10 sheets and was forced to hold onto the rest. I guess that means I must admit that not only do I have a fabric stash problem, I have a paper stash problem too ;o; To tell the truth not only do I have those papers to get rid of, but a while back I got addicted to buying scrapbook paper stacks that I thought were particularly pretty. You’ll see a sample in steps 10-11. I guess I need to get cracking on more notebooks like this if I want to use up all that stuff.
