Free Pattern Friday! Owl Plush

Hi all! It’s only September, but I’m already getting excited for Halloween. As most sewists know, you have to start early for every occasion. So for this year I thought I’d make an owl plush! While making a cute one was a ton of fun, I just had to get into the Halloween spirit and make a creepy one as well 😛
So this pattern has the templates for both! It gives you some decent options to switch things up and make different faces and characters. But I think what I love most about the plush is how chubby and round it turned out :3 You just can’t help squeezing it!
So happy Halloween season everyone! I hope you enjoy it!

P.S. Stay tuned next week! This pattern inspired me to make a fun variation that’ll be a bonus pattern next Friday!

Free Pattern Friday! Bat Plush

Prj087

Since it’s still September it’s not quite Halloween season, but I couldn’t help myself! I felt the urge to make a little bat plush and wanted to share the pattern with you 😀
It’s a pretty basic shape with a big head, tiny body, and oversized wings and ears. It’s wonderfully floppy and expressive and very fun to hug. It features several face applique options including lashed eyes, heart shaped nose, fangs, and blush marks. You can mix and match to make your favorite. The wings also have extra top-stitching for some special detail.

It only has four pattern pieces, but placing everything just right is crucial. Not only to be sure the wings and ears are symmetrical, but to be certain the neck is sewn straight as well. If you have no problem taking it carefully during those parts you should be good! I gave it a 3/10 stars in difficulty with all that in mind. I hope you’ll try making one in time for Halloween!

Freebie Friday! The Ninja Scoodie

The month of Halloween commences today! I hope you all enjoy the projects I have planned 😀 This one, like all the rest, is meant to be an easy way to add to or complete your Halloween ensemble ^-^ This week I used some scrap black fleece to make a scoodie :B That is a cross between a scarf and a hood that are sometimes seen among the nerdy crafting crowd. Except this particular scarf/hood combo has a little face mask so you can lurk amid the shadows, pockets at the end of the scarf, and big fleece shurikens to wield! Pair this with a black outfit and you’re an instant ninja that’s snuggly and warm to boot!

The size is sort of an adult one-size-fits-most, but since it’s only a hood it should also fit well on most bigger kids as well. The mask is held in place by buttons, which not only make the mask easy to adjust while you’re wearing it, but easy to adjust while you sew it as well. You can simply move the placement of the buttons to make the mask fit tighter or higher on your ninja-in-training 😀
