Free Pattern Friday! Chocobo Plush

Hi everyone!
This pattern is another one that’s been highly requested over the past several months 😀 It was such a joy to make because Final Fantasy is probably my favorite game franchise and I’m really glad it’s still going strong with classic creatures like these silly birds ❤
I wanted to take the character in a slightly different direction than the officially licensed plushies and go with something more like art from the game. So these Chocobos have huge beaks that are almost toucan-like. And of course they have big spiky feathers on their heads, tails, and even little accent feathers.
I’ve rated it a 4/10 because the head has some y-seams that are a little tricky, the beak has some curved sewing, and the head is sewn on by hand. But the rest of the pieces are pretty straightforward.
You can sew the face with applique or use the embroidery files I’ve included. It’s small enough to fit in 4” x 4” hoops and still include a placement line to help you cut out the pattern. I hope you all enjoy it!

Free Pattern Friday! Tiny Dino Plush

prj091
I knew I had wanted to do a dinosaur plush for months now, and I’ve been obsessed with designing things with simple shapes. So those two together brings us this tubby little dino plush! It’s got a round, stubby little body with four tiny legs and lots of spikes going down the back.

If you’re not used to working with really tiny pieces it might be tricky, but it’s also good practice. Other than that it’s just got some darts and curved sewing, so I gave it 2/10 stars in difficulty. If tiny pieces are really difficult for you it might be closer to a 3/10. All in all a decent plush to make if you’re ready to move away from pillow-style soft toys.

I can see using this same pattern for a dragon or other similar animals 😀 Just add some wings on the back and you’re pretty much good to go!

Freebie Friday! The Tiny Totoro Tote

Prj023
It’s Miyazaki again! I’m sorry, I couldn’t help myself >w< I started out with this fun dotted print and thought it would look adorable with some white contrast bits. I was particularly excited about the idea of corner patch pockets on the tote, and while I was doing white contrasts, the idea to incorporate the chibi Totoro came to mind. While I love big Totoro like crazy, the Susuwatari and chibi Totoro are my favorite characters from My Neighbor Totoro I think x3 I actually have a plush of a chibi Totoro myself that I keep on my desk. So I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put them on something. I think the finished tote is just the perfect size for a trip to the library or to the yarn store ^-^
