The pixel art is back! If you all remember the Heart Piece Pillow Cover, you’ll remember my love of all things 8-bit >w< I’ve been itching to make something pixely again so I gave it another go! With some leftover light blue fabric I thought maybe I could get some quilt-block sized squares to resemble the items panel from Super Mario Brothers 3. Granted of course the items in that panel didn’t include a 1-up and a coin x3 but I had to make the items that my fabric stash would allow.
The pixels would have been far too small to make the blocks pieced, so I assembled the icons with appliqué instead 😀 I think it was a bit quicker than piecing all the little squares together, but I wouldn’t say one method is better than another 🙂 For large pixels I think squares are still a fun way to go. Maybe I’ll revisit these blocks later and make more ^-^ enough for a full quilt!

All right! Time for some more old school video game love >w< For a while I’ve been wanting to make a plush version of the famous Tetris blocks, but the idea of just having plush squares seemed like it could be livened up at least a bit. When I remembered that I was in desperate need for some more pincushions, I put two and two together to make these 😀
These helped me use up some long-stashed quilting cottons so it allowed me to make the Tetris blocks into some wild colors as opposed to the traditional primaries. I kinda prefer it this way ¬3¬ Of course, you don’t need to make yours pincushions – you could increase the pattern and make them traditional plush size, or even pillow size! I think that would be a lot of fun 😀 I personally can’t get my boyfriend to stop playing with them XD

I couldn’t wait to share this one with you all ^-^ Again, I got a little tired of bags so I took a break and wanted to show you this gift I made for my boyfriend a little while back. He was working tons of overtime and I wanted to give him a little gift to cheer him up. Hence this little guy was born. He’s the perfect size to let sit on your desk or toss around with bored coworkers :3 What’s more, it bounces like nobody’s business – I don’t know what’s up with that, it must be the physics of the shape plus the materials or something xD I love it.
Much like the Triforce Plush this one takes a little finagling to get the best cube shape, but if you use fleece like I did, it covers a lot of the mistakes, and it looks more soft and plush-like anyway.
