Hello! My name is Choly Knight and I specialize in kawaii sewing patterns!
I’ve been sewing for more than 20 years, and my journey got started at a young age making my own clothes. I was always a bit of a nerd, so it’s little wonder that my new passion for sewing quickly evolved into cosplay. I still enjoy tinkering with it to this day, and my favorite part of the costume-making process was in designing casual wear. Anime artists put their characters in such unique and fun clothes, and I always thought “we should make it easy to wear these kinds of cute outfits every day!”
So in my college years I became a consistent anime convention vendor, where I sold handmade casual cosplay hoodies and accessories. When I branched out to selling online, I was discovered by Fox Chapel Publishing — who requested I write a book about the same adorable projects I was making! We worked together on various topics; kawaii goods, quilts, kids crafts, and even books for beginners. All those projects led me to build quite the stash of scrap fabrics. So I started a blog where I could share some of the projects I made with the leftovers, update people on new books I was working on, and design new patterns to practice for my next book.
Visitors offered up suggestions for new patterns, and I was more than happy to oblige! Which is how you’ll find my designs shifted from cute bags, wearables, and home dΓ©cor, to mostly plush toys. And that leaves us where we are today! I’m absolutely thrilled that what started as a fun way for me to use up leftover fabric has become a useful resource for so many people. I hope you’ll continue to follow me on this journey as I keep designing, sewing, and learning!

I have discovered a wonderful new hobby with the help of this website! I’ve bought quite a few patterns from etsy and made quite a few free ones from the site and I can’t thank you enough. I handsew everything and it’s brought me a deeply relaxing new way to spend my evenings. Thank you thank you thank you.
hi π
I am looking for something like the Abaminable snowman or rudolf the red nose reindeer or some oldies that the young kids would know. Do you have anything in your closet of oldies but goodies? My email is cjt061262@gmail.com
Unfortunately no, I don’t have any characters like that at this time π I have a Yeti, which you can find here (https://cholyknight.etsy.com/listing/278426448/bigfoot-yeti-sasquatch-monster-plush-pdf).
Aside from that I just have a polar bear and a regular deer. I’ll certainly consider the ones you suggested for the future though!
Love your work, thought you might get kick out this creative’s work or maybe inspiration, especially her animals in cosplay. Hope it’s ok to paste link. I only wish I were her, lol. https://www.dianateeterart.com/#/animalsincosplay/

A warm hug from Cordoba, Argentina
What kind of file are the embroidery files?
My embroidery packs contain 8 different file types π
There’s .EXP (typically Bernina), .JEF (typically Janome), .HUS, .VIP, .VP3 (typically Husqvarna/Viking), .PES (typically Brother or Babylock), .DST (typically Tajima), and .XXX (typically Singer)
Having worked at a fabric store since 2016 (but not allowed to give recommendations), I have always had high praise for your work. The patterns come out beautiful, and the instructions are the most user friendly I have seen. The price makes it easy to buy multiple patterns without breaking bank. Whenever someone wants to learn to see beyond a pillowcase, I always say my *personal* recommendation is to try you out. I’ve made a few of your patterns, and they also easy to tweak to ones personal taste.
Thank you for being awesome!
Oh wow, thank you! That really means a lot π₯°
You are evil in the best way!!!!! Today’s bird pattern is spectacular; barely finished downloads and my fingers are twitching with all the variations I can make!!!!! Thank you.
