Pokemon have really been dominating the polls as we close up the year, so it’s no surprise that a classic like Ponyta has made it to the top of the list. I have done a Galarian version of Ponyta many years back as a pattern hack for my Unicorn plush backpack, so it was fun to revisit the original version. This sweet fire-type Pokemon has an adorable flaming mane and tail with extra flames for the body, arms, and legs.
This one has a belly down pose to make the construction much simpler than a standing version. Though you could probably put the mane and tail on one of my other horse or unicorn patterns to make a very cute standing version as well. Perhaps another pattern hack for the future! Because of all the flames and other details, this one is rated a 4/10 in difficulty.
As always, this pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes and nostrils. These are if you are sewing the details by hand or regular sewing machine. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

But now add on to make the other version of ponyta. Its adorable, but you could easily make this as the other ponyta. Unless that exists and I just don’t remember.
“No add on” I mean. Also Galarian ponyta, that’s the name.
You can use the one from the backpack hack: https://cholyknight.com/2020/03/19/spring-sale-unicorn-backpack
