I’ve been so excited to take on the Legendary Bird Pokémon since they were first on my pattern poll! They have such awesome designs and I’m always a fan of elemental themes. This group covers all three of them: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
This version of the birds has a simple chubby body, then all the elemental details take them over the top. They have big wired wings, distinctive tails, and unique headpieces to make them stand out from the rest.
But if you’re a longtime fan of my work, you might know that I already have a bird pattern! It’s a little more complex design than this free version, but they give the legendaries a whole different look. So I’ve included a pattern hack to make them!
The hack goes over how to swap out the eyes, beak, wings, and tails from the original pattern with the new Pokémon pieces. Aside from those small details, the construction is still very much the same. So if you want to make this more complex version, you’ll need the Pet Bird Plush pattern. It will be 30% off for the next week if you’d like to pick it up. And just for fun all other winged animal patterns will also be 30% off! Meanwhile the rest of my shop will be 20% off.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes for each of the legendaries. These are if you are sewing the details by hand or regular sewing machine. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

I wonder if I’m not too late to ask what colors you used for these cuties? I love to order Shannon cuddle minky to make your projects but I have such a hard time picking out fabric colors to match sometimes. I really love your patterns and so appreciate all the work you put into them!

Articuno: azure, peacock, and silver
Zapdos: lemon, black, and pumpkin
Moltres: sunshine, mandarin, and red
