I’ve got a new pattern that I’ve been working on 🙂
I’ve gotten a handful of requests for mushroom animals, and they’re certainly a fun and trendy idea right now. And the idea was open-ended enough that I kind of went overboard finding fun animal combinations that would work for the prompt. And with Halloween coming up I had to try out a bunch of creepy designs too!

This pattern includes a classic stumpy mushroom with a chubby body, tiny arms and legs, and a big round mushroom cap. Then a step up from that in difficulty is the chubby frog plush which has an added mushroom hat! You can make the hat removable using magnets or just attach it permanently with hand stitching. After that are the creatures that have a more slender body base with a big bottom. The first is just a blank body that is like a mushroom sprite with an added mushroom hat. Then there’s a cat, mouse, and dragon that also use the same base. They have a removable mushroom hat with slots for the ears or horns!
And of course the mushrooms are all inspired by the different interesting fungus species out there. There’s the classic red and white amanita muscaria, but also a Shaggy Ink Cap and Devil’s Tooth mushroom too.

As usual, the pattern comes with applique templates for the different faces and mushroom designs. But if you have an embroidery machine, you can buy the embroidery files separately. There are 12 different eye styles that are all fairly simple in design, but they range from sweet and cute to creepy and a little of everything in between. All the pieces are either 4×4 hoop friendly or have separate options for working with 4×4 hoops.
