It’s hard to believe that after over 10 years since the original My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series that these cuties are still so popular! But they scored big on my pattern poll and I did my best to recreate them. I hesitated to try them because there are already so many amazing pattern makers with their own versions of the ponies. In fact I wanted to highlight some of the fantastic resources out there, both free and for sale. If my design isn’t your cup of tea, then maybe one of these will suit you better!

My version covers the classic Generation 4 Mane 6 — which includes Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. This one is a beanie style plush with poly pellets in its arms, legs, and bottom so you can have it lying or sitting or just flop it around in your hands for cuddling
These characters needed a lot of little details to make their unique character details, so it makes for a bit of a long pattern. So it’s formatted a lot like the Eeveelutions, where each step is marked with an icon so you know if it applies to your character. The body is more like intermediate difficulty, with all the curves in the legs and darts in the head. All the character details do take some extra time though, especially if you’re making a pony with stripes like Rainbow Dash or Twilight. So with that in mind it’s rated a 5/10 in difficulty.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face and cutie marks. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

These are adorable! But I wonder, how about a nod to the ORIGINAL 80s MLP’s that started it all? 🤠
I’m so excited to have an mlp pattern! Do you think I could use the head on the standing unicorn and fawn pack, or is it too small?
Thank you! The Unicorn & Fawn head and the MLP head are about the same size. But the head to body proportions are different. It looks like the MLP head on the Unicorn & Fawn body might look more like the fillies from MLP (like Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, etc.) because the body is much smaller.
PONYSONA TIME!!! (in seriousness thank you this will be delightful)
Merci
Esta hermoso
These are adorable! My first time leaving a comment ( I swore I left one earlier but its not here now, odd 🤔) but long time follower and maker of your patterns. Would you consider making a plush pattern for the original 1980 ponies that started it all. I think you would do a great job.
Thanks for this pattern I’m really excited to make one
Not only did you create the pattern, but you went the extra mile and presented some of the other patterns out there for people to take a gander at (other free and even paid patterns). You continue to be one of my favorite pattern designers.
Thank you so much!
I was going to say the same thing!! Absolutely amazing to link other people’s patterns too!

wow! that’s such a detailed reply, thank you!
I absolutely adore that you put together the FREE embroidery files. You’re a national treasure, no other way to put this.
Would you be able to make embroidery files for Derpy? I really want to make her, but I can’t figure out how I’d make her eyes looking different ways. Usually I’d just use another patterns’ files, but then it wouldn’t have the MLP eye shape.
I can’t wait to make this!!! Is this big enough to make it weighted? If so how heavy? I’d love to make it around 5Ib but I feel like they aren’t THAT big lol
They are currently a little weighted 😊 It’s used to help make them floppy and pose them in different ways. The samples I have are weighted in their arms, legs, and bottom and measure at about 12 oz. I imagine if you filled the entire body with poly pellets and maybe increased the size about 200% that would get close to 5 lbs.
