Free Pattern Friday! Snake Plush

Not everyone is the biggest fan of snakes, but I hope this newest free pattern might help change your mind! This one got a lot of votes on the pattern poll, and many of the written requests came from dedicated owners of these cute danger noodles as pets. I felt especially inspired by all the adorable images of snakes using themselves as pillows.
This pattern has the pieces needed to make a snake with a super curvy body that spirals on itself. There are 2 head options, one for a more classic snake that’s inspired by a ball python, and another more like a hognose snake with a turned up nose. The body can be made completely solid, or there’s a more advanced option for a striped body. You can use this to simulate the patterns on snakes like a corn snake, ball python, or rattlesnake. Speaking of which, there’s also a rattlesnake rattle to add on as well!
The head has some tricky curved sewing in the forehead and chin which adds to the difficulty. As for the body, the solid color body is much faster to sew than the striped one, which has a lot of little pieces to keep track of. So with that in mind the solid version is rated 3/10 while the striped version is more like 4/10.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. You’ll find there’s a version for both a narrow pupil and a round pupil. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!

    1. I believe it’s Shannon cuddle fabric. It’s low enough pile and quite easy to work with! Comes in bunches of colors.
