Free Pattern Friday! Charizard Plush

Hey everyone!
Looks like we’re ending the year on an epic note with this final evolution of Charmander! I’m definitely not surprised that this impressive Pokemon ranked high on my pattern poll. I was afraid he might be too complicated to make into a free pattern, but after some planning I think this version works! Though admittedly I’d love to revisit him to make a more complex version in the future.
This version has a sitting pose with big chunky feet out front. It has a long neck with tiny arms and a short snout. The tail is super long with the signature flame on the tip, and the wings are held up using pipe cleaners.
The face has a similar to detail to Charmander. It has a gusset that goes down the middle. So you can sew a version that combines these pieces to keep the mouth intact. This is also great if you have a 5×7 embroidery hoop. Or you can sew a version that splits up the mouth. The instructions will show you how to ensure that it aligns perfectly back together. This is intended for smaller 4×4 embroidery hoops.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face and other details. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. I hope you all like it!
