Free Pattern Friday! Mew Plush

Hi everyone!
So many Pokemon have risen to the top of my pattern poll! So here we go on the next one — it’s Mew! The last Pokemon of the first generation. This adorable legendary Pokemon has a tiny body with big feet and a fun wavy tail. It would be a perfect chance to use some wire in the tail so it’s posable. So there are actually two shapes for the tail, a wavy one that works best without wire, and a straight one that is easier for inserting wire.
This pattern has decent amount of darts in the head and body as well as some tricky curves in the legs. You’ll need to work carefully to line up the points around the legs. The feet also have needle sculpting to create the little toes 💖 With all that in mind, I rated it a 4/10.

As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face details. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download here or with the buttons below. It includes the eyes as well as the foot pads for the feet. Meanwhile the feet and arms can also be sewn in the hoop.

I hope you all like it, and thank you to everyone that voted for it! I’m so excited to be making more Pokemon!

    1. I’ve just finished making my first shiny Mew. And I’ve used htv for the eyes instead and it’s turned out so well.

  1. I can’t thank you enough for this pattern. My son is in love with Mew! This is going to be our long weekend project!

  2. Oh my gosh I can’t wait to make this! 😍 Also I just wanted to let you know that this pattern doesn’t appear on your “free plush pattern” page. I saw it through the mailing list email but when I came back to check here I couldn’t find it.

  3. Omg thank you<3 just search for a new plushie idea after i finished my second zombie bunny and i love Mew so much!

  5. Sorry to be a stickler – could you put this on your ‘Free Patterns’ page as well as your home page, so that it’s easier to find? I love it, by the way <3

      1. I don’t know why but I’ve never had the courage to ask a question so I was super shocked to see your reply! I wanted to let you know that your patterns are impeccably illustrated, detailed and explained. I’ve made so many for my son or riffed off of them to create plushies my son dreams up in his endless stories. I actually started making some for his friends! You’ve brought us years of joy, thank you so much!
Btw, have you ever used those teeny tiny clover mini irons for the applique? I’m so scared I’ll scorch the minky with regular sized irons and usually end up just pinning and sewing them on. Thanks again!
