Free Pattern Friday! Raccoon & Red Panda Plush

Hi everyone!
A raccoon really skyrocketed to the top of my pattern poll! I had the most fun designing him to be especially chubby to channel that ‘trash panda’ vibe 😂 And while I was at it, I also made a red panda variation! I already have a free red panda pattern, but I had gotten requests for more, especially after the Turning Red movie.
This pattern has decent amount of darts in the head and body as well as some tricky curves in the legs. You’ll need to work carefully to line up the points around the legs. But if you pin carefully and work one section at a time it will go a lot easier 💖 With all that in mind, I rated it a 5/10.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the face details. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find the embroidery files available for download with the buttons below. It includes the face for both the raccoon and red panda, as well as the nose. The ear meanwhile is sewn in the hoop.
I hope you all like it, and thank you to everyone that voted for it!

I’m not sure why but I’ve always disliked your previous red panda pattern, it’s adorable but not really my style. But HOLY COW IS THIS ONE AMAZING! This is absolutely what I’ve been looking for and I will be making one for all my friends and family members!
Thankyou so much for sharing this with us!

  3. Hi! thank you so much for yet another pattern! I was wondering, my friend is going to sew this for an assignment (learn something new/genius hour) But does not have a sewing machine… So, we decided that hand sewing would be best. I am teaching her, and was wondering if you had any tips on how to hand sew this pattern. (We are gonna embroider the eyes <3) thank you!

    1. Hello! My quickest tips for hand sewing would likely be to set yourself up with good supplies if you can. A good quality thread, thimble, sharp needle, and thread conditioner can make things go a lot more smoothly.
I also have more detailed guides here:
