Lunar New Year sale! Plus Chinese Zodiac Animal Plush pattern

Hello everyone!
I’ve got a new plush pattern I’ve added to my shop!

I’ve gotten requests for a set of the animals from the Chinese Zodiac for so many years now!
I’m not Chinese myself, but I did my best to research the topic and give it the due diligence it deserves. So please don’t take my words about the tradition as an authority, but definitely as encouragement to learn more about this beautiful celebration and the culture behind it!
There are 12 animals assigned to each year that goes in a cycle. I’ve done many of the animals in the group already, like the rat, cow, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, and dog. But I still get requests for a matching set, so I took a lot of time to research the zodiac as well as design patterns that could work for all 12 animals. And as a bonus, this includes both the goat and sheep as well as a cat for you Fruits Basket fans out there.

The pattern itself is for a sweet sitting style plush animal. By swapping out the ears, arms, legs, and tails where it’s needed, you can use this one base pattern to make 14 animals! The instructions include small icons that let you know which animal you’re working on, so you can skim it easily to just focus on the animal you need. You can see an example of this with my Eeveelution patterns as well 🥰

As usual, the pattern comes with applique templates for the eyes and other details like paw pads. But if you have an embroidery machine you can purchase the embroidery files separately.
To celebrate the launch, the new pattern will be 30% off from now through the 2nd of February, just after the Lunar New Year. Meanwhile the embroidery will be 50% off. And to celebrate the Year of the Tiger, all my other tiger patterns will also be 30% off. And patterns with the other zodiac animals will be 20% off. And finally the rest of my shop will be 10% off. I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you do, I hope you enjoy it! Happy year of the tiger everyone!

  1. So much work involved, thank you for your diligence. Will have to save up to get this one, but I will be getting the pattern.

  2. Hi! I have a question about embroidery. If I have a regular sewing machine, a Singer Heavy Duty, can I still do machine embroidery? Do I need to buy some kind of add on to it?

    1. you don’t need to buy some other attachment, you can simply do a zigzag stich or if you want you can buy a satin stich needle and turn your stitch length to 1/0 to get a cleaner look. good luck 😀

I’m making the goat and I’m having a really hard time turning the tail. Did I do something wrong?

    1. Hello! It is a skinny piece so I can see why it might be difficult to turn because of that. You could try trimming all the extra seam allowance down to about 1/8″. That should reduce a lot of bulk and make it easier to squeeze through 💖

Curious, did you use kyo and Yuki as inspiration for the cat and rat cause oddly specific for an orange cat and a rat with purple eyes >w>

    1. They were! I knew for this pack I wouldn’t have time to make all their bodies exactly like the Fruits Basket characters, so at the very least I borrowed some of the color schemes ♥
