Free Pattern Friday! Elephant Plush

Hi everyone!
This animal has been on my pattern request list for some time, so I’m glad I’m finally able to get to it — it’s a cute elephant! When trying to decide how it might look, it seemed like a great opportunity to take advantage of the tiny body from the cow plush from back in February. So if you’ve made the cow previously you’ll find this one will be a breeze.
Just like the cow it has a cute little 4-legged body with a big head. The body is a bit complex since it’s a 3D shape with 4 tiny legs, but I do my best to break it down into simple seams. And because of the extra large head and trunk, it also requires a really big poly-pellet pouch to offset the weight. It also features big fun ears, an adorable trunk, and tiny little tusks that really pull the whole look together.
With all that in mind, I rated it a 4/10 in difficulty. As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes if you’re using a regular sewing machine or working by hand. There are also embroidery files available if you have an embroidery machine. They’re 4″ x 4″ hoop sized, so no need to break out the big hoops 😊
I hope you all like it!

  2. Hi Choly,

Oh my! This little elephant is “sew” cute!! I haven’t commented in a long time, but I love your site and your patterns NEVER disappoint. Always cute, always amazing, and always easy to follow and make. Thanks so much for all the free ones. I think I’ve bought almost all of the ones from your store too. 1. Thank you I was not sure, it makes it unique for your design it looks as if she is looking one way.I appreciate your reply 🙂

  3. I’m trying to do the embroidery for the eyes on my machine, but I want to skip the lashes and blush to make an elephant for a baby boy. On my machine, I can delete the blush from the design, but it won’t let me delete the lashes because they are part of the main black part of the eyes. Am I doing something wrong? It may just be that my machine doesn’t have the capabilities to customize designs that much, but I thought I’d reach out to see if you had a different file without the lashes or something.

  4. This pattern sewed up so well!! Thanks for all your patterns. I’ve made the Carnosaurus, the bearded dragon, the axolotl, unicorn, red fox, Picachu and this elephant. Next to make are the giraffe, sloth, pig, and tiger. Looking for the pattern for Snorlax and a capybara. Then my Christmas gifts for my grandkids will be done! You are so talented!!
