Free Pattern Friday! Seal Plush

Seal Plush Sewing Pattern

Hi everyone!
Up next in my list of pattern poll winners was a seal plush! I thought it would be a good opportunity to make another simpler pattern that’s beginner friendly 💖 It’s similar to my previous shark, dolphin, and narwhal plush in construction. It has only 4 pattern pieces and very little hand sewing — so it comes together really fast!

Just like last month’s manta, I rated it a 2/10. It would be great for newbies to practice some new skills and see results right away. I found it was perfect for using long-pile minky, and creates a really fluffy seal. It also looks great in smooth minky too.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes if you’re using a regular sewing machine or working by hand. A simple muzzle piece is available for this method, as tiny whiskers are difficult to sew with applique. Meanwhile the embroidery files available can make a more detailed muzzle with little whiskers. Everything is 4″ x 4″ hoop friendly, you’ll just need to rotate the fabric to make it fit.
I hope you all like it!

Adorable, you are amazing. You are designing faster than I sew. Congratulations on another cutie!!

  2. It’s so cute! I really love and admire your work, and I think it would be really cool if you considered bringing a snake pattern 😀

  3. Oh my goodness!!! I just bought a seal plushie the other day! I guess she’s getting a pup, lol. All your patterns are amazing, and you are so talented. Thank you!!!

  4. Omg my daughter LOVES seals and has been begging me to make her one. I adore your patterns so this is flippin awesome! 😋 I cannot wait to make one of these for her!

  5. I just finished making this seal with the help of my 7 y.o. daughter. We made her out of grey plush with white speckles and added safety eyes, because we don’t have the patience for embroidery or applique 😁 she turned out wonderful and we’re already planning to try more of your patterns. Thank you so much for being so generous.

Using this pattern, but making it larger, for my work! Making 2 for out upcoming seal pup season so they can snuggle up with a mama stuffy! Thank you so much for sharing! I volunteer at the Nation Marine Life Center in MA, we rescue and rehab seals and sea turtles 🙂
