Hi everyone!
I’m continuing on my pattern poll quest which means a manta ray was up next! Patterns for these are relatively plentiful on the internet already, particularly this awesome one by BeeZeeArt. So I wanted to set mine apart by making it extra chubby and adding some spots inspired by an eagle ray.
It’s even easier than the frog pattern I did last month, with only 3 pattern pieces. It has some dart sewing, curved sewing, and stitch in the ditch. I would usually rate it a 3/10, but honestly it goes so fast so I rated it a 2 instead. It would be a great way for a beginner to practice their skills and get a quick result out of it.
As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make the eyes if you’re using a regular sewing machine or working by hand. Safety eyes would also be a great choice if you want an even faster finish. If you have an embroidery machine, there are also embroidery files available. Everything is 4×4 hoop friendly, but if you have a 5×7 hoop you can sew more of the body spots.
I hope you all like it!

Hi Choly!
Wow! Another great pattern, amazing work! I wanted to know, where can I get the pink, teal, and dark blue galaxy fabric from?
Keep up the great work,
Laila
Hello! Thank you for the kind words 🙂 I personally designed that fabric on Spoonflower, so you can get a lot of custom printed fabric there ♥
Hello,
I am used to order some plush from you on spoonflower, but I couldn’t find the ray mantra, are you making them only on custom orders ? or did I missed the mantras ?
thank you
Hello! The particular fabric I used isn’t available for sale yet since I just used those prints privately for myself. But I’ll try to get them up for sale soon 🙂
oh okay, thank you for your reply ! I must say that those cosmic mantras are AWESOME (and while spoonflower has, this week, a promotion on fat quarters, it was the perfect time), I will wait then 🙂
Spoonflower has terrible customer service, i ordered the Korok fabric print and my piece was off, meaning i had barely any of two colors, and too much of the others, and it came in the wrong type of fabric, and I emailed them six times about it with no response. Just, be careful with Spoonflower, its expensive with dodgy results
Adorable, thank you!
Thank you! 🙂
Thank you so much. This is really cute (as are all of your designs).
That’s so kawaii. It looks so cute like this. But aren’t their faces on the belly?
It wouldn’t be as cute
The eyes are on top, but their mouth is on their stomach
Okay so I love this pattern! Its so adorable!
Thank you! And bless your generous spirit. ❤️
Omg my hearts going to explode these are so cute 😍😍 I made one up and filled it with rice for a really cute heating pad
I absolutely love your patterns with the embroidery files. Thanks for the good excuse to make yet another plushie!
Oh my gosh!!!! the Manta Ray is so adorable. I am going to sew one for my soon to be baby great grandson. You are so talented and bless you for sharing these beautiful patterns.
Awesome! Thanks!
Wonderfull so as all your patterns
I’ve a question where do you find so pretty fabrics?
Best regards
Can’t print the pattern :'(
I’m sorry it’s giving you trouble! If I may ask, what .pdf reader are you using? I find Adobe Reader works the best ♥
Thank you very much ! It’s so cute !!
Love it! Thank you!
Hi Choly! Would you ever consider releasing vector files for the applique details along with the embroidery files? It would be super useful for us crafters who have a cutting machine to take the PNG/vector files into the cutting software and cut them with heat-transfer/iron on vinyl. Especially for patterns with all these little dots. I don’t have an embroidery machine, but I do have a Cricut and tons of HTV colors, and it would so much easier to iron them on than to applique stitch each little dot haha
Unfortunately I don’t have any cutting machines at the moment, so I wouldn’t want to release resources I can’t test myself first :/ I wouldn’t want to offer resources that I couldn’t help people with if they run into issues. But if I ever do get a cutting machine I’ll certainly consider it! Thank you for the input ♥
Aw, cute!
Thank you !!
I love this so much, this looks like a fast and easy lil plush to make :>> Thanks lots!
When the next pattern coming out
In about 3 weeks 🙂
So wonderful pattern. Now i stitched and sew two for two babies in our family/neighbourhood. I added crackling foil in the both fins so baby can grab and listen …. Thank you so much for your inspiring patterns.
Elke from Germany

Thank you for your free manta ray. Your toys are adorable!!! Unfortunately, I thought this was done ITH, as I don’t sew much, so I can’t use it!!! So upset. Thanks anyway!
This pattern may interest you then 🙂

Hi, should the PDF sewing pattern be printed on letter size? Or does A4 work…?
I haven’t found the answer to that yet.
Love seeing many of your plushy patterns and finished plushies, like this manta ray, they look so cute!
Thanks, also for supplying some patterns for free,
Mieke
Hello! Technically the pages are designed on letter size paper. But they are made with wide margins so they also fit on A4 🙂
Thank you! I will give it a try and look forward to trying it your pattern(s)!
I love this design! It’s actually the very first plush I’ve tried to make ^_^ I only used fleece of-fcuts so it doesn’t look quite as cute as yours here but it came out ok for a total beginner! Thanks so much for giving me the tools to try new things ^__^
Hi, I’m getting an error mess when I try to access the embroidery files. Is there another way to access them?
I’m guessing whatever device you’re using to download might not agree with .zip files? Regardless here’s a link to my personal storage where you can download the files separately 😊 I hope that works better for you!

grâce à vos patrons j’ai en premier réalisé la peluche Raie Manta pour moi et ensuite j’en ai fait un sac a dos pour ma nièce en agrandissant votre patron.
Ma nièce de 2ans est super contente. merci à vous.
