Free Pattern Friday! Vulpix Plush

Hi everyone!
So I’ve been keeping a close eye on my ongoing pattern poll for 2021 <3 At the time I planned on making this, Vulpix was very near the top! But things quickly changed and now lots of other animals have taken the top spot, haha! So needless to say I have my work cut out for me next month, but for now here’s a Vulpix!
I really wanted to revisit the cute body used in the Pikachu plush from last year, since I thought it had a really adorable look. So this plush has the tiny stubby body with an all new head and fun Vulpix accents like tiny swirl tails, hair curls, and 3-dimensional ears.
It also has options to make the Alolan Vulpix, which has a fluffy tail and hair.

As always, the pattern comes with applique templates to make details — including the face and inner ears. These will work if you’re sewing the details by regular machine or by hand. If you have an embroidery machine, you’ll find options for the Alolan bangs and tail and some ITH options for the tinier pieces. For any large pieces, there are 4″ x 4″ options available.
This project has a lot of darts in the head and many of the smaller body parts are also sewn on by hand. This is especially true for the classic (Kanto) Vulpix which has 6 tails, so there’s a bit of a time sink there. There are also some crucial points to line up in the legs to get the right shape. So if you take your time with those parts and pin carefully before you sew you’ll get through better. With all of that in mind, I rated it a 4/10.
I hope you all like it!

  1. Your designs are so adorable. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing your patterns, my grandchildren love it when I make them. 🙂

  2. Thank you so much, I can’t wait to make this little cutie, I might even drop my current project and get straight on to this.

  3. Vulpix has always been my favourite pokemon and I’ve wanted a plushie but never found one I liked – thank you for making this pattern. I am excited to finally have a vulpix of my own 🙂

  4. Ah quick question! Do you use embroidery or appliqué for the plushie you make? (The ones in the pictures lol) my perfectionism is kicking my but mine doesn’t look quite the same as yours but my gf thought maybe I was comparing appliqué to embroidery! So I’d figured I’d just ask!!

Thank you so much for you patterns and all the work that goes into them, you’ve made me a better sewer with all your tips and tricks!

    1. The sample pictures usually show both 🙂 In this case the brown (Kanto) Vulpix has applique eyes and the others are embroidery ♥ I hope that helps!

  5. ich habe es gestern genäht. auch wenn leider kein englisch kann, bin ich mit der Anleitung sehr gut klar gekommen. da kommen auf jeden Fall noch mehr dazu.

I didn’t have the right colors for Vulpix but I took the pattern for Vulpix’s body and added Teto’s tail and neck ruffle to make an adorable Eevee! Thanks for the pattern!

  8. I can’t seem to get the embroidery details, when I tap I just get a load of adverts, please help as I really want to make this. Thank you for the pattern.
