Free Pattern Friday! Penguin Plush

Hey everyone!

I technically already created a penguin plush back in March of 2015 when I did Gunter from Adventure Time. But I was still getting requests for a penguin, haha! 😀 So I figured I should tackle a more classic penguin look, possibly with a different pose? Which is where my friend had the idea to make it look like it’s sliding on its belly! The idea seemed too cute to pass up <3

The pattern itself doesn’t have a lot of pieces, so the penguins come together rather quickly 😀 The most difficult part is sewing the bottom, as there are some curves involved. But if you take it slow it’s not quite so bad. Altogether I’d call it a 3/10 in difficulty.

You can sew all the features with fusible web applique or using the embroidery files I’ve included below. The version of the face which includes applique for the top point needs a 5” x 7” hoop. But I’ve also included an amended 4” x 4” version without the applique and blush marks which still gets the job done 😀 I hope you all like it!
