Free Pattern Friday! Fox Plush

Hello everybody!

It’s crazy to think that after all these years I still haven’t done a fox plush! It’s such a classic animal, but I suppose I wanted to be sure I was giving you all something I hadn’t seen before and is also relatively easy <3 After a good bit of testing and trials I landed on this design of a tiny little hand-held fox with a big wrapping tail!

The pattern itself doesn’t have a lot of pieces, so the foxes come together rather quickly 😀 To get the curve of the tail, it has some double-ended darts, which is likely the most difficult part. Sewing it won’t look pretty until the tail is finally done 😛 But despite all that I’d still call it a 3/10.

You can sew all the features with fusible web applique or using the embroidery files I’ve included below. In it are the files for the face, which uses applique for the muzzle. There’s also the ears, which has cute little applique fluffs. To make things easier the ears are sewn in-the-hoop – so they’re ready to attach to your head once they come out of the machine! Both files are sized to fit 4” x 4” embroidery hoops too! I hope you all enjoy!

I made some cut & sew versions for Spoonflower too! So you can skip all the applique and embroidery because all the faces and pattern notes are printed right on the fabric ♥ There’s a classic orange and gray fox as well as a fun icy arctic blue and galaxy fox 😀

  1. Thank you so very much. I found some fleece thinking I would like to make a fox hat or something. Now I know what I’m going to make.

  2. Love your patterns so easy to follow and the embroidery machine designs make it so much easier……THANK YOU

Much love from Belfast, Northern Ireland xx

    1. Hi ! I would love to make one of these plushies and I’m wondering… How did you do this nice sewing between the muzzle and head, or between the inner and outer ears ? It’s the same as on the grey fox on the pdf, but this particular technique is not explained.

Btw thank you so much for free pattern Cholyknight 🙂

      1. The gray one is made with an embroidery machine 🙂 So those areas are sewn on with a satin stitch and come with the included embroidery files. You can also do a satin stitch on a regular machine, but it’s difficult to get it to look that neat and clean ♥

  6. I just completed the Plush Fox and it turned out so nice! Thank-you for the pattern! I want to make the Hedge Hog for a Christmas gift but I did not see the machine embroidery for the face like you had for the Fox. Do you have that part available??
