New Shop Pattern! Steampunk Aviator Cap

Hello everyone!
I’ve got a new pattern that I’ve recently added to my Etsy shop 😀

It’s a little pet project of mine to create as many cute steampunk things as possible, so many years back I designed these classic aviator caps but added animal ears to them. Since then I’ve had a lot of requests to share the pattern, so that day is finally here!
This hat pattern has a classic aviator cap look, but is more optimized for costumers 😀 It’s a little more loose-fitting so it fits more comfortably for wearing all day and is less likely to give you hat hair. It also grabs your attention a lot more with its big chin strap and buckle. So this hat isn’t intended for actual aviation, but it still makes a great statement <3
You can make it tighter if you choose, since it has sizes for heads from 13” all the way to 25”. So you can also make fleece versions for babies that are both cozy and cute.

The pattern includes templates to make a fox, cat, rabbit, or deer. You can also use the antler template to make a jackalope as well <3 It works well with fuzzy fabrics like fleece, simple fabrics like twill, or even leather and faux fur! My personal favorite combination is faux suede with a minky lining.
The pattern has some curves that are a little difficult to contend with (especially if you’re not using a stretchy fabric), but overall the pattern doesn’t have a lot of surprises. Installing all the hardware can be tricky if you’re not used to it, but even if you skip it the result still looks pretty great.

For an extra steampunk look, I’ve also designed two embroidery files that can work along with this pattern, but they would be perfect for lots of other projects too. There’s both a set of gears and a bird skull with a creepy Victorian vibe.

To celebrate its launch, the pattern will be 30% off for the first weekend, and the embroidery files will be 50% off! I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you snagged a copy, I hope you enjoy it!

  1. That is so cool!

You could make guaggan plushie pattern! They are so cute! (guaggans are from a game, guild wars 2, and I mean those blue and pink versions you find with google)
