Hello everyone!
Iโve got a new pattern that Iโve recently added to my Etsy shop ๐
Iโve had a lot of requests for a plush backpack, so with con season coming in strong and back-to-school after that, I finally took my first crack at it! It was quite involved to make, but lots of fun, so I hope you all like what you see! The templates cover how to make a classic fox, cat, or rabbit. The ears and tails are really cute and detailed so youโre sure to make an interesting character no matter what animal you go with. The bodies are designed so they look like theyโre clinging to your back and looking off to the side.
Like most plush backpacks, the storage size inside isnโt huge, but I optimized the shapes the best I could to get the most storage possible ๐ The plush comes in two sizes and each has a pocket that is held closed with a zipper on the belly. The small has a 5ยฝโ x 8ยฝโ pocket — enough to hold a phone and a few essentials (like keys and a wallet). It would work great as a purse or a childโs backpack. While the large has an 8โ x 12โ pocket โ enough to hold a standard tablet! The large plush clocks in at about 23โ long, so itโs quite the statement piece <3 It would be great for a convention or making some very impressive commissions. You can see them in action on my Instagram here: Large size & small size.
Itโs a slightly harder pattern, since it combines all the difficulties of making plush and a backpack, but the instructions are extra detailed and chock-full of information to help alleviate any issues ๐ Just know that it will take longer because it is so large.
One thing that might help is this pattern has some accompanying embroidery files you can purchase! Both the paw and eye designs are available to buy. The design pack comes with a files suited specifically for the backpack and also standalone files that you can use for other plushies should you choose. The ones meant specifically for the backpack all fit within a 4″ x 4″ embroidery hoop too ๐
To celebrate the launch they will be on special for the next 3 days! The backpack pattern will be 30% off and the embroidery designs will be 50% off <3 I hope you guys will take a look! And if you snagged a copy, I hope you enjoy it!

Yey! I just got mine!
Thank you for this Choly!!!!
Oh these are adorable and thank you so much for the embroidery design files! Before I buy, can all of the designs fit in a 4×4 frame or only some of them?
Thanks so much! And yes, all of the ones meant for just the backpack definitely fit ๐
For the stand-alone eyes, some of the larger eyes with eyebrows are too tall for a 4×4. But those are if you want to use the eyes in other projects ๐
I hope that makes sense!
Just purchased! Can’t wait to print and start making one for my daughter!!
These are so cute, and THANK YOU for making the embroidery files meant for them fit a 4 x 4 hoop! ๐
This pattern is INCREDIBLE!!
Of course I decided to make things harder for myself and modify it into a Toothless Backpack (I have a little bit of a Toothless problem ๐ ) but IT WORKED
Thanks so much for this one. It’s awesome. 10/10 will be making heaps of these.
I’d love to show you the Toothless one but I can’t seem to post photos here ๐
Just realised I replied to your comment instead of making my own and can’t seem to figure out how to change it. My bad ๐
Aww, that’s fantastic! Thank you so much buying a copy and for all the kind words โฅ My Facebook is probably a better place to share photos (https://www.facebook.com/SewDesuNe) But regardless I’m just so happy to hear it went well โฅ
Can you make into a free patten please
Unfortunately this particular pattern is very complex so that’s why it’s not free. But I’ll definitely consider a simpler version as a free pattern!
