Hi everyone!
Another month has come and gone already! I can’t believe it! It feels like it’ll be another year gone by before you know it. I’ve been working on a lot of new patterns this month in addition to my usual Etsy store creations. I also have a few new features to share in the coming months as well; I’m so excited to see how everything rolls out!
This month’s pattern features another classic creature that I’m sure needs no introduction…
A Phoenix!
Of course with summer well on the way it seems like this legendary bird of flames and rebirth seems appropriate, huh? It has my usual kawaii chibi-fied style with a super big head and little round body. But I’m sure it’s no surprise that my favorite part is the tail. The three sections nestle together and each has a set of three stripes in classic flame colors. You could of course modify this for lots of other beautiful birds as my flaming blue Phoenix shows. The tail takes a bit of time to do, but you could make it easy on yourself and just do a solid colored tail as well. The pattern gives a few tips on how to do that.
I gave this one a 4/10 stars since it doesn’t cover anything too intimidating, but there is a lot to do and many small pieces to keep track of. Like with previous patterns, I’ve labeled everything with a letter so you can keep track of what goes where. I know sometimes in cases like this I keep the paper pattern pinned to the fabric pieces until I need them. I thought I should mention that after taking in some feedback, I’ve done a bit of an overhaul to my current pattern style 🙂 I’ve included a lot more basic sewing information in this current pattern, taken 3x as many photos, and just overall tried to make it more beginner-friendly for those rogue novices that try out intermediate patterns. I hope you all enjoy the new look!
