Free Pattern Friday! Hedgehog Plush

Hi everyone!
For this month’s free pattern I’m taking a cue from some of the surveys I’ve held over the past year — so thank you everyone that voted for a hedgehog!
This round, pudgy boy is made from a combination of both smooth fabric and extra fluffy faux fur to give it the look of hedgehog quills. It gets quite a lot of its personality depending on what kind of faux fur you choose! Anything from a short 10mm pile (I used Shannon Minky Lux Angora, Fawn, & Rose in the testing) to a longer 35mm pile (the lavender here is a Shannon Luxury Shag; sadly the gray Falcon Shag is no longer available)

The body is a fairly straightforward round shape with tiny arms, legs, ears, and a little snout. So putting it together is pretty fast — especially if you have no trouble working with faux fur. With all that in mind, I rated it a 3/10.

As always, the main pattern has templates to make the face and nose in applique, but you can also use the included embroidery files as well <3 The face is pretty small to begin with, so it has no trouble fitting into 4″ x 4″ embroidery hoops.
I hope you all like it!

So cute! My daughter has made so many of your patterns (she is 13) and loves how you explain everything so well. You taught her how to hand sew toys, so thank you! Can you make a mini schnauzer pattern? Our little dog, Basil, would like a cuddly companion who looks like him 🙂
