Free (Crochet) Pattern Friday! Squid Amigurumi

I’m back with another crochet pattern! For you stitchers out there I made a 3rd little sea creature for our jellyfish and octopus friends 🙂 These squids have the classic pointed head with two little side fins (done with half-double and double crochet). Six little small tentacles and two large tentacles finish off the bottom. The pattern contains templates for stitching on angry or happy faces plus cute contrast spots, but you could use safety eyes as well.

And just like the other crochet patterns so far, you can make this with just about 100 yards of yarn. I used DK personally, but bulky yarn looks great too. It really is a catch-all kind of design because it looks good in just about any color. It’s a great use for leftovers — I used up a ton of mine this way ♥. The instructions contain both an illustrated chart and written instructions in case you prefer to follow one over the other.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Free (Crochet) Pattern Friday! Jellyfish Amigurumi

I’m back with another crochet pattern! For you stitchers out there I did a variation on the octopus pattern to give him a little friend 🙂 These jellyfishes have the octopus body with added frills and curly tentacles. As an extra accessory, you can make them bows or a fun little flower!
Just like the octopus, it can be made with about 100 yds. Of DK or light worsted yarn. Or you could size up to bulky yarn for a larger plush. And like the octopus, it has both charts and written instructions.
I hope you all enjoy it!

Free (Crochet) Pattern Friday! Octopus Amigurumi

A little something different today ❤

I don’t make a big show of it, but I also love to crochet 😀 I find it’s a great relaxing activity, especially one to do while watching shows and movies. I’ve been trying to work through my yarn stash (without a lot of luck, haha!) by doing some simple and classic animals that come together quickly. I don’t think they’re terribly complex so why not share them with all of you? ❤
This one is for a very basic octopus, with a big round head and 8 stubby tentacles. My boyfriend and I actually designed this together (he actually taught me to crochet <3) so he had the pattern on his Etsy store for a little while. But he’s since decided to shift to other projects so he said I could do whatever I wanted with it – isn’t he sweet?

The pattern goes over some basic crochet stitches in case you need a refresher, but my favorite part is that it has both a written instructions and an illustrated chart. I love the charts used in Japanese amigurumi patterns so I had to try out making one of my own. The pattern also has some cute accessories for your octopus, including a bowler hat and a bow 😀

I think anyone who’s maybe done 1 or 2 crochet projects before could easily tackle this little guy ❤ I found with DK or light worsted yarn it makes a perfect hand-held size and it only needs about 100 yds.
Being my first crochet pattern, I really hope you all enjoy it and find it easy to follow!
