Hi everyone! I’ve got a new pattern I’ve been working on as well as a store-wide sale to celebrate!
I was so excited when a Bat backpack gained lots of votes on my pattern poll because I knew it would be perfect for Halloween. I even ended up going overboard and created a second pattern for a Mothman backpack!
These patterns will show you how to make a backpack in 2 sizes. The small is ideal for holding essentials like a phone and wallet, while the large size is an epic statement piece that can fit a 7” x 10” tablet!
The Mothman backpack has two poses. One that’s a classic forward facing pose, another that’s turned to the side so it looks like it’s clinging to your back. Meanwhile the bat backpack has the same two poses and one more silly upside down pose – just like a hanging bat! It’s got the zipper pocket in the bottom and everything.
It’s a more advanced project because you have the challenge of plush making combined with bag-making techniques. The pattern will go over how to do the zipper installation and making adjustable straps. But if you’re not quite ready, I would recommend my free backpack pattern, which has a similar construction but with more basic shapes.
If you sew by hand or regular sewing machine, you can make the faces and other details with fusible web applique. The instructions include everything you need for that. Or if you have an embroidery machine, those can be found sold separately. The pack comes with multiple sizes in case you like the style of the eyes and want to use them for another project.
To celebrate the launch, the new patterns will be 30% off for the next week! Meanwhile the embroidery is 50% off. And lastly everything else is 25% off. And if you want to buy them both, an automatic bundle discount should apply, which is a new feature on Etsy 💗
I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you do, I hope you enjoy it!

$12.50 for all that?! Bought immediately!!!
Soooooo cute!
Theses are so cool! Does the pattern come with a 9 to 12 inch tall version? Because I would love to make lil bat guys for some friends :3
Thank you! The smallest one is 13″ tall 😊 So if you wanted to go smaller you would need to shrink the pattern — specifically 70% to get a 9″ bat.
This came out so well!! https://i.ibb.co/Z6kfJC85/IMG-3237.jpg
