I’ve got a new pattern that I’ve recently added to my Etsy shop 😀
Over the past year, I had a lot of interest in a pattern for a floppy plush. I imagine that could mean different things for different people, such as something like a beanie baby. But I got it in my head to try something that’s posable. So I tried it out on a dragon first, to see if I could make one with weighted arms and legs so you could pose it in different ways. And I’m super excited with how it turned out!
The new pattern is for this small dragon plush that’s the perfect size for flopping around in your hands. It has extra poly pellets in its arms, legs, and body so it can sit up on its own or flop down on its belly. The limbs are posable and expressive, so it’s fun to see what kind of looks you can achieve. In some cases, I’ve even been able to get it on all fours ❤ Keep in mind of course that it poses best on a rough surface, such as a tablecloth, unfinished wood, etc.
And for an extra fun twist, the templates included are for elemental themed dragons – including earth, air, water, and fire. So you can mix them up for something unique, or go with a more classic dragon look.
The main downside of the pattern is that it’s trickier to sew Definitely my hardest plush pattern so far at 7/10 in difficulty. All the extra bits, like the spikes, claws, and ears, are very detailed and tedious. On top of that, the head is sewn on by hand and takes some careful positioning. So this might be a little daunting for beginners, but I couldn’t help wanting to share it anyway.
To celebrate its launch, I’ll be offering it at 30% off for the first weekend! I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you snagged a copy, I hope you enjoy it!
