Hello everyone!
I’ve got a new pattern that I’ve recently added to my Etsy shop 😀
Last year I did plush backpack of a cute rabbit, fox, and cat. And you guys gave it such a welcome response – thank you so much! But the most common question was whether there would be a dragon version ❤ I’d be crazy not to make one! So here’s what I came up with!
It’s got the same major features as the original plush backpack, but with a cute dragon body instead. It comes with lots of different wings, horns, and spikes that you can change up depending on the look you want. I felt inspired to do a weather theme. So there’s a snow, rain, wind, and lightning dragon — but they really work together in whatever combination you like ♥
As before, it comes in two sizes. The small is a more typical size that fits a few essentials like your phone, wallet, and keys. While the large is an epic statement piece that can fit a whole tablet!
It is a slightly harder pattern since it combines both plush-making and bag-making. Even more so because for this dragon version I included how to make a secret (optional) hidden tail pocket! If you’re familiar with using invisible zippers you can tackle this addition 🙂 It’s sure to blow people’s minds when they see it! But know that it’s a tricky technique so be sure that you’re confident if you try it. If you skip it the plush comes together just the same.
If you feel intimidated by the whole thing, it might help to know I’m working on a simpler plush backpack without all the extra details for the future ♥ So stay tuned for that if you’d prefer a more basic version 😀
One thing that might help make the project easier is the accompanying embroidery files that are available for purchase as well 😀 It has two different eye styles, available for both the small and large backpack. In addition there’s a set of other sizes for use with different projects should you want to. All the included files fit within a 4” x 4” embroidery hoop so all sizes are covered.
To celebrate its launch, the pattern will be at 30% off for the first weekend — from now until April 1st (no fools here ♥)! And the embroidery will be 50% off! I hope you’ll give it a look! And if you snagged a copy, I hope you enjoy it!
