Free Pattern Friday! Spider Plush

Hi everyone!
More Halloween fun today! I’ve got a creepy animal plush that I hope will make your day a little spookier <3 This spider plush has a simple little chubby body, eight tiny legs, and two mandibles. But my favorite part is probably the four eerie eyes.

Getting the 8 legs sewn in is a little difficult as the head area starts to get crowded. So it’s best to take it very slowly. Or if that doesn’t work, try sewing the legs into the body instead where there’s more room 😀 Aside from that, it’s a quick plush since there aren’t ears or tails or other extra body parts. Overall I rated it a 4/10.

What I ended up doing for some variety is give the body lots of different marking options 😀 There’s a set of hearts you can do for a cute spider, or a skull for an ominous one. But any spider design would be incomplete without a black widow motif. The applique templates have the classic hourglass, but I went a little crazy with the embroidery version and made it ornate with a web design inside! All the embroidery pieces fit within 4” x 4” hoops, though the body pieces need to be on the diagonal to fit 🙂
I hope it might bring a smile to even some arachnophobics! And I hope you all are looking forward to my next Halloween update! <3

  3. Hi there! We are having problems with the PES file for the eye embroidery. My machine does not like it. Are we alone with this problem? I’d love a fix if there is one!

    1. I’m very sorry it’s giving you trouble! This is the first I’ve heard of it, but every machine is different 😊 Are you getting a certain error message? Or do you know your machine brand and model? I can look into adjusting the file settings to make it better match your model ♥
