New Crafting Challenge Pattern for September!

Hey everyone!
Wow! It’s already September! The rest of the year is just flying by 😀 But it’s been a great one so far. I’ve had so much fun designing all of the legendary creatures for this year. I can’t believe it’s nearly over. But on the bright side, October is coming up, and that means Halloween! I have so much planned for that I can’t wait!

But! Onto more plushie related business! There’s a new pattern to be had – and I’m sure many of your were eagerly awaiting for it…

A Unicorn! (and Pegasus, technically)

I know a lot of your were requesting one or both of these guys 🙂 And goodness knows I had it planned from the get go – you can’t skip unicorns! I had to make sure that had my own chibi simple spin on them so they fit with the group and don’t venture into My Little Pony territory. They have detailed wings, a cute little mane and tail, and (probably my favorite), brightly lashed eyes.

As for difficulty, once again the head is sewn on by hand, so some dexterity and skill in positioning is helpful. The mane is sewn into the back seam of the head and even creeps into the front of the head as well. So you’ll be sewing some opposing curved edges, which is a little tricky. Also the ‘hooves’ are very tiny circles. That’s a little tough to sew on machine, but you could also do it by hand. With all that in mind, I gave it a 4/10 stars in difficulty.

★ So how do you get this pattern? ★
If you’re NEW to this site, this pattern is my one time only FREE gift to you! Just submit your email address to subscribe to my blog between now and September 30th (found in the submission box on the right sidebar above “My Books”). This will earn you the pattern ONE TIME for THIS MONTH ONLY.
Give it about 24 hours for your new pattern to arrive after signing up. But if it doesn’t, or you have other troubles, you can check out more info at the main Monthly Crafting Challenge page, the FAQ, or by emailing me.

★ What if you’re not new to this site? ★
If you’ve already signed up for email updates, that’s where the CHALLENGE comes in. You can also earn this pattern if you make one of the projects from this blog, my books, or my Etsy then email me or message the finished project to my Facebook.

★ What if there’s no way you can participate this month? ★
If you think you can’t make anything this month, you’re in for an extra treat! I wanted to include more of the many equine creatures found in fairy tales and folklore, so I added them to the paid pattern. It’s ready for purchase on my Etsy for a very low price. And you can use coupon code MCC2016 for an extra $1 off.

In it you’ll find two extra equine creatures: a kelpie and hippocampus. That is a horse creature with a fish tail – either with a fish dorsal fin or wings. It makes it quite the huge pattern, and it’s only available as part of the paid collection!
Kelpie Plush
Don’t forget to check back next month for another new legendary creature! And keep sending me photos of your amazing creations!

  2. OMG this is to adorable! Can’t get enough of your patterns! For a suggestion maybe a pokeball reversible into one of the starter Pokemon? Like a reversible stuffed animal? I would pay 100$ for that!

  3. Oh, my! Been looking for a pony/unicorn pattern all week. And here is a totally adorable one, and I’m just in time! All the rest of your patterns are adorable as well. Just signed up. Can’t wait to get it so I can get started! Thanks for making these patterns available.

  4. Can this be made with a loved ones clothes like t shirts, flannel shirts or denim ? Like as a memory stuffed animal, or does it have to be something with strench like mink or fleece?

    1. Something stretchy (like a thick t-shirt, sweatshirt, or fleece jacket) would be the best I think 🙂 Fabrics like flannel or denim might have an elongated look to them since they won’t stretch outward.
